Don't much care who is setting the limits but I do know it is a real pain in the BUTT
At 1 Flying J I was able to go over $50 with no problem.
At the next 2 Flying Js the pump stopped at $50 but I was able to re-insert the card and finish filling.
At still another there was a sign on the pump concerning Credit Limits at the pump
Visa Card---$50.00
Master Card or Discover---$75.00
In any case the card could be re-inserted
Than at still another Flying J the pump shut off at over $60 and the tank was full.
At the Wal*Mart, where my original post started this thread, I was limited to $50 and could not re-insert the card.
At other Wal*Marts there was no credit limit on any of the cards.
I cannot believe this is being done by the Credit Card companies.
It just doesn't make sense to allow
#1-unlimited purchases at one station
#2-$50 limit at another with no re-insertation
#3-$50 limit but being able to re-insert the card and finish filling at still another.
and all of this is on my Chase Visa Card
Anyway you cut it it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
