We’re using a Netgear 815S hotspot, and it doesn’t seem to be a problem. I think plugged in all the time keeps the charge at maybe 80%, I guess to protect the battery. What’s nice about this is, you can take it with you if you want your own WiFi instead of at a restaurant or hotel.
