Larry and Lavonne,
The Moryde Pinbox replaces the fifth wheel hookup pin on your trailer. It is constructed of a plate with a pin and a plate attached to the trailer. These two plates are connected by a rather large piece of rubber. This rubber allows come movement between the plates. This movement provides for some amount of elasticity in the fore aft direction between truck and trailer. This elasticity provides damping of the jerkiness that derives from the elevated hookup position of fifth wheel trailers when uneven road surfaces are encountered.

There are other devices such as the Trail Aire hitch (which I happen to have). In my opinion (I am a graduate control system engineer), the Moryde is a far superior and more elegant solution. It directly addresses the root cause of the problem in a simple, straight forward, and rugged solution. Moreover, it is the cheapest solution around and should be a piece of cake to install. Just make sure you have an adequate torque wrench.
