It's been comming long time. Defaulted on bonds couple years back. Never made the numbers they promised the banks and government backed loans. The ideas were good but they did couple prototype builds that cost them. That is a common in manufacturing. Country Coach made major investment in designing their "patio" model motor home with glass slider to a raised porch off the kitchen. It was the brainchild of the "smartest guys in the room". Yet the serious and expensive engineering is rumored to have burned through all the cash that might have saved them during the collapse of the economy.
Finally while it was a novel design, it made the kitchens clostrphobic. While people raved at the concept, it was not something people wanted to buy. Three steps down you have the biggest patio in the world. Why give up 13 ft of potential indoor living to have a raised deck. Good company's come and go, but Thor seems to hold its own!
