Hi,

One thing I didnt see on this post was the way he hooked up the cable to the box (may have missed it though). When I first hooked up to Direct TV, I had the same problem. They say the cable hook up is Sat ready. Mine would not work, but if I ran the cable direct...Wa La! I had a Sat input installed and never looked back.

Another tip that worked great for me was to turn on the signal finder on the dish, turn on the outside speaker and then move across till I hear the signal increase and then up to get the best signal. It cut down set up times to minutes instead of the dreaded potty mouth after 30 minutes of 'relaxing' at the camp site.

After all that, bought a Winegard carryout and have it down to 5 minute set up...ya a little spoiled but...
