We rearranged the sofa/chair setup several years ago and have been happy with the arrangement.
Better view of the television, especially if the computer is being used, etc.
We never/hardly ever sit on the sofa anyway unless guests are over. There are generally only the two of us.
The first year or so we strapped them with a tie down strap each time we moved. Now we just tuck the sofa cusions between the wall on one side, dinette chair on the other, and between the two chairs in the center.
we stopped even turning the chairs back to back as it proved not to be necessary for us.
