We live just about 50 miles from Roper Lake. It's one of our quick getaway places, mostly during the cooler months (because it's very hot there in the summer) although we were just there this past weekend on our shakedown cruise with the new Monty. We like it a lot, usually take the kayaks to paddle around the lake and fish a little. There's an easy walking path around the lake, a beach area, and Mt. Graham is just up the road which rises to about 10,000 feet elevation. Safford is about 7 miles up the road and it's a nice town with a WalMart and grocery stores for the necessities.
