When plugging a 30 AMP cord into a single Honda EU2000i, I use one of these adapters:

RV Suplus has them for $ 10.00

I don't know if its any different from just plugging into one of the 15 AMP receptacles (amperage wise), but I like the solid connection, and it prevents anything else from be plugged in.
