2-in-the-woods,

If you're coming out on 10 I'd recommend that you take I-8. After Tucson you're headed north on I-10 and just before Casa Grande, AZ you'll come to the I-8 freeway. Take it. Then when you get to Gila Bend take the 85 toward Buckeye. This route will be much less traffic and take you around the zoo that is Phoenix.

Then take the 10 west toward California. About 45 miles east of the CA border you will come to a road called the Vicksburg Rd. There are a couple of truck stops located at this junction. As you head north on the Vicksburg Rd. you will stop and cross hwy 60. There is a nice 'Mom and Pops' type restaurant located here. Huge place to park your rig and the food is pretty decent. It is the KOFA Cafe. We stop there every chance we get. After your stop keep going north to hwy 72. Head west on 72. This road will take you into California. There are a number of little towns or communities along this route and just before you cross into CA there is the town of Parker. At Parker you can either take the AZ hwy 95 north and connect up with hwy 40. This road takes you thru Lake Havasu.

If you keep on 72 you will cross the Colorado River and enter California. The road changes to hwy 62. Stay on 62 until you come to hwy 95 at a place called Vidal Junction. This hwy will connect you with hwy 40 right at Needles, CA. From Vidal Junction you are approximately 55 miles south of Needles.

Take the I-40 west and go just a couple of miles until you see the exit for Laughlin, NV. Stay northbound on this road and it will take you right into Laughlin. The road is called River Rd./Needles Hwy. The very first part of this road as you exit the freeway is actually part of the old Hwy 66. It goes up the California and Nevada side of the Colorado River. It is a less traveled road. Much less traffic and many fewer signal lights. At first the road is a bit beat up. But no major problems. Just take your time and enjoy the scenery. South of Laughlin you will pass an Indian Casino called the AVI Casino. They have a very nice CG. They also have an 'overflow' that is free.

You can also go up the AZ side on hwy 95 but there is much more traffic and many more signal lights. It will bring you to Bullhead City which is directly across the river from Laughlin.

We usually stay at the Riverside Casino RV Park and Resort. It is a decent RV park. We usually get a discount so price is reasonable (until you count in the wagering). There are several very nice CGs around this area. Usually no reservations are required UNLESS it is a holiday and or there is a SPECIAL EVENT of some sort going on.

After Laughlin you either head west up the hill(hwy 163) and hit hwy 95 or go east(hwy 68) and hit hwy 93. Hwy 93 will have you cross the Hoover Dam and then just say on it into Las Vegas.

Good luck and have a great trip.
