My guess is simply too much bending pressure on that fitting. Nothing to do with heat. This is exactly why I ALWAYS fill my water tank (even if I have a water hook up) and use the pump. I can tell if there is an issue by hearing the pump run while no one is using the water. If hooked up to water, there would be no end to the flow of it. At least with the pump drawing from the tank, the water flow would stop when it was emptied.
