That old 7.3 could have been modded to compete with the new trucks, pulling/power-wise, for not an unreasonable amount of dough as long as the trans was in good shape.
That 7.3 was a proven, durable performer, and I had found one that had a manual transmission, I would have taken it over any new truck out there. Instead, found a 2007 Dodge with the last of the 5.9L CTD with a manual transmission and manual transfer case. Put a Smarty Jr. programmer on it, and it outperforms the new stock rigs.
...but, anyway, congrats on the new rig.
