Use an ohm meter. One lead to the center wire the other one to the braded wire or outside of connector. Short out the other end. Keep shorting out wires until you fint the ends of the same wire. When you have continuity label both ends. Do whatever wires you need. Then you'll at least know what wires you're dealing with. Done this many times over the years.
