Also, we plan to stop halfway near Memphis TN and would like recommendations on a nice campground for that night.
Thanks !
I feel sorry for you pulling your rig on the AWFUL Roads around Memphis!!

Tom Sawyer campground in West Memphis (across the river into Arkansas). Good, safe campground right on the river with good view of Memphis riverfront. Just far enough away from the residential areas to keep you safe. DO NOT GO INTO MEMPHIS AT NIGHT!!! Memphis is extremely dangerous with very high crime. But Tom Sawyer is safe. Also happens to be reasonably easy to get too (exit at the truck stops on Arkansas side of the river bridges).

If your willing to drive just a little further check out Village Creek State Park about 45 minutes further down the interstate. Two lakes, premier golf course and nice campgrounds. Very reasonably priced to boot. It's a little hidden gem in the middle of delta farming country. One of our favorite places to play golf as we get to enjoy the camping as well. Down side is road to park is about 10 miles or so of rather twisty 2 lane. May not be worth it for just one night.

Stay on I-40 thru Little Rock to Conway. Turn North on Hwy 65 and it is a straight shot all the way to Branson. You will pass thru our town of Bee Branch (don't blink) along the way. Unfortunately we are stuck in the New Mexico desert for now due to work. Hwy 65 does have some hills but best road with a lot of NEW asphalt and mostly 4 lane.

Oh if you don't stop at the first two there is a park called Wolly Hollow about 20 miles north of Conway, AR or immediately North of Greenbriar. It is another Arkansas State park with a tiny lake but really nice paved campsites. Very clean and reasonably priced. About a 10 mile drive off of Hwy 65 as well but road is flat new pavement. It might even be an option on the way back or something for you.
