LoanOak, where you surprised at the difference in the top of the world highway between the US and Canadian side? Canada nice smooth hardpacked dirt/gravel. US side narrow, right over bare bolders, rough. Oh, except near the border where the US paved about 7 miles. That had us thinking, this is a nice road - until we hit the dirt!!
