I was going to order a 3160 and had the same concern. Even inquired at the factory and they said there was not enough room above the awning to mount a topper. We ordered a 3100 instead with toppers and I am going to put an awning on the door side slide somehow. I think on the 3160 they just don't want to spend the money because I ask why you only get two toppers on the 3160 but its no cheaper than the 3 on the 3100. They said the extra awning cost offsets the topper cost. Sounds like a cheap way out to me.
