Please be aware that if you choose to arrive early at KOA Association Island/1000 Islands Campground the following should be noted:

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES
Check-in 3 pm to 8 pm. This is a gated campground, so late arrivals must have a reservation booked in advance. Early check-ins may start at 1 pm, for an additional fee and based on availability.

I recommend that you consider checking in between 3 pm and 8 pm. If you are running ahead of schedule in your travels the following enroute stops are suggested:

I-81 northbound (before exit 41, Rte 178 west to Henderson Harbor):

- Exit 33 (Parish) Gristmill Restaurant - easy access, lots of parking, good food and fuel.

- Exit 34 (Mexico) Mapleview Family Restaurant - easy access, lots of parking (bear to right entering lot), good food and fuel.

I-81 northbound (past exit 41)

- Exit 45 (Watertown) left on NYS Rte 3 to Walmart lot. Several restaurants and stores within walking distance. When departing for campground, continue West on NYS Rte 3 to Rte 178 - right to KOA.
