Oh yea, one other thing, the flow meter thingy, you need a 2 gallon per minute flow to get it to work, minimum. We found there was not that flow possible inside of Montana, so, our flow meter thingy is residing in the basement of Montana. When the softener needs regenerating, you will know it, the water gets hard feeling, no silky feel and my skin felt like I had just come out of the ocean, crusty and icky. The quality of the water (soft wise quality) drops off dramatically when it is time to regenerate.
