There are a few good tips here already to follow. Avoiding 95 would be my number 1 tip. I have made many trips from CT to western TN. The quickest route is I40 east and then pick up I81 north by Knoxville. In PA I take 78 on over but with a 5er I would suggest going past 78 and hit 84. A few options on 84 in CT. So many places to go on your trip, so many things to see, so much history. I will say this, hit 95 going into Main and stop off in Kittery to hit the Kittery Trading Post. Not sure where you are headed to but also try to get to Kennebunkport. Many great places for lobster. My wife and I are headed to R.I. with our 5er on the 17th for a wedding. It will be nice to get some fresh seafood once again.
