Our unit came with a wireless one. It did not work, the replacement one works. I am not real impressed with it but if someone or something gets behind you as you are backing in you would see them and be able to stop. It is kind of nice while on the road to see if someone is camped in the blind spot behind the trailer that your mirrors can't see.
