On the fenders, we had the same problem mentioned here, losing screws. I tried various backing materials where I could access the backside but nothing worked until I backed the screws out a few turns, shot some clear adhesive/sealant on the hole where the screwhead would touch, then tightened the screws. That was around a year ago and they've not budged since.
We still have the problem with the fenders flapping in the wind, though. The stiffener rod tends to come loose. I may have to do the same adhesive/sealant to it, on both ends of the rod, to see if that will hold it in place.
