You can buy a cable tester and using the diagrams figure out how your's is different. I borrowed one from a guy who had one. They range in price from cheap to really expensive. I think the one he had was in the $30 range. Folks who are buying older homes and guys that install cable for a living are folks to look to borrow one from.
