Q Is the fan on the DLS going to run at all times?
A No. DLS units feature "proportional fan control," meaning the fan will run only when needed and at the speed necessary to cool the unit.
Not sure about a 2004 model, but this indicates the fan on thier products is also variable speed, so you may just not be hearing it.
