Hugh, your best reply, which also is true, is that if you take those shades down more than a couple of times the screw holes enlarge and the screws don't want to hold. Been there. We used to take them down to put film on the windows to get us through the single digit winter times. After the holes started enlarging we started putting the film on the outside. Now we just get out of there before it gets that cold!
