Your weights and mine are similar, and a dually is the cure. However all the rear axles in a dually will pull that weight, but 4:10 will power up a steep slope easier. Most of the country is flat, and with 4:10, your fuel and engine rpms will will both run at a higher rate for those long days on roads like rt 10.
Totally agree with the engine brake advice. Going up is never scary, goin down can be.
