We pull a 3100RL, first with a 2500 CTD and now a 3500 dually CTD. We never had a white knuckle minute with the old truck but the new one is so much more stable and of course, more powerful; would never go back to a SRW unless we go to a much smaller rig. With us, two big dogs and six months worth of stuff we gather on the road, we weigh right at 24,000#. While the old truck (2001) never struggled, I know we were over weight in some areas, which is one reason we moved up to the 3500. The other is that we may trade for a bigger rig sometime. We tend to keep vehicles for a long time; before we got the 3500, newest was a 2004 Pilot. We don't have a garage at home and don't mind parking out in the boonies at the mall, so the problems of parking a dually in congested areas don't bother us. We have spent a lot of time in the East; from Northern Florida to New England; have had to fold mirrors to get thru some spaces but have never regretted having the bigger truck. I understand others may not agree.
