Check to see if the vent is directing airflow from the AC towards the thermostat sensor in the bedroom. It is usually mounted on the wall somewhere, ours looks like a miniature whiffle ball (about quarter sized). If cold air is directed at the sensor, obviously the thermostat will shut off the AC in a very short amount of time.
