I found out about this solution recently and have no personal experience but is alleged to be direct competition for Hondas and Yamaha quiet generators with a Clean Sine Wave and literally the same specs just way less the price. For example, 2000w peak, 1600w run rate, about 49 lbs, 54 db. While it also has the ability to be connected to another unit, it is also vertically stackable if that's important:

I have seen other links to this product by other sources so feel free to search for this one. This is from Champion (Chinese made?). The parallel kit is also a separately orderable part.
