We run ours for literally weeks at a time 24/7. When it's below freezing the furnace still runs enough to keep the basement warm and pipes safe, but I think it takes some strain off the propane use.
Interesting comments on use of electric oil filled radiators and running those instead of fp. What makes that any safer?
