Sounds like you have an excellent dealer, I am glad you posted his responce to your problems. I don't believe there is a standard in regards to how the wire is protected in these or any RV units today, as with aviation it take's something really bad to change installations procedure's. I think that your incident has made many of us a lot more apprehensive as to what might happen. Safe Travels my friend John
