I find it interesting that people claim better stability with a dually, but I've never seen anything to back up that belief. We've been from Maine to Alaska and many points in between with our single rear wheel and I've never encountered a situation where I thought the truck was unstable or lacked stability. Duals provide a larger foot print, but the springs, axles, shocks and truck frame are all the same. In an extreme situation where someone encountered enough downward force on one end of the axle to lift the other side off the ground, perhaps the dually would perform better, but I avoid those situations.

Besides, as I've said before, I don't need a truck with training wheels.
