I've done several improvements that i wouldn't let my dealer touch. With the 125.00 or more per hour they charge plus weeks setting out in the weather just to get started and then a 50/50 chance of them doing it right i prefer doing it myself. Some of my major improvements such as MCD shades, disc brakes, and I.S. i let the professionals do but i don't consider dealers professionals. I'm retired and have the time so i try to do the things i know how to do including maintenance such as replacing brakes and packing wheel bearings.Even though i'm limited to what i can do compared to many on this forum, i consider many of the rv techs at dealers mechanically challenged.
