Wouldn't tow with anything but a 4x4. I needed one time to get out of the campground at Zion National Park. There was already several inches of snow on the ground and they were getting ready to close the roads. I got out with no problem. I don't know if I would of had the same result with 2 wheel drive. We also like to go exploring in the mountains looking for ghost towns. Another thing I learned is to use 4 low when backing up the 5th wheel. Especially on any type of incline. It takes the load off the transmission. The transmission guy told me that after I burnt mine up backing up my driveway one too many times.
