After I paid $114 for my first fuel filter change, I decided the next one I would install on the Duramax. Well, I was getting an oil change and the guy said if I'd go get a filter, he'd do it for cheap. I think it cost about $5/$10 extra, counting the diesel fuel he went and bought. The filter cost $33. If you do it yourself, don't forget to prime it with some diesel. Also, I bought a web strap wrench at Pep Boys to make it easier next time to remove it. I put in a K & N air filter last year. Not sure if it was worth it or not.
