IH35E thru Dallas
IH35E thru Dallas - in addition to nightmare traffic and road construction - there are very few RV campgrounds between (north end) Denton and (south end) Hillsboro.
Just south of Denton there is an old KOA now called Destiny RV Park. I saw Neil Armstrong walk on the moon there on the black and white television they had in family room back in the day! But I don't think they have fixed the pot holes in the campground streets since the moon landing.
There are some Corp parks on Lake Lewisville that I am not familiar with.
Sandy Lake RV Park is located at IH35 and George Bush Tollway. I have only driven by it, never stayed there. The curb appeal did not strike me - but it may be nice...don't know.
Basically - If you decide to drive IH35E thru Dallas- you will not pass a campground worth staying at until I35 RV Resort north of Waco (discussed above).
