I installed a 50 amp hard wired surge guard in our 3075 the same way as mtheo did. It was easy to install, less than 2 hours. I really liked the remote monitor, and will be installing the same type in our new Monty. The 50 amp will work fine on a 30 amp extension cord, that is what we use most of the time.
