We installed a Dometic Penguin 13,500 BTU and it is not hooked into the ducting system or the thermostat. The controls for the unit are on the inside mounting panel in the bedroom.
For the OP: I was assuming in my respose you already have a Montana and just wanted to add an additional a/c. As the previous responses said it is cheaper to add one when you order prior to it being built but would be a moot point if your rig is already sitting in your driveway.
