Not sure about the 55k btu rv units but I installed a small (120k btu) NR501-OD-LP Noritz unit for an outdoor shower I built. It will trigger at .5 gpm (15k btu) so works great in low flow situations. I will add that they are very efficient - we have hooked to a grill (5 gal) propane tank and have gotten somewhere between 30 and 50 showers from the tank in the last year. Very efficient!! For the RV unit, $1,200 would take a very long time to get any payback.
