1. We went with a Dometic 13,500btu. Plenty enough for the bedroom. We bought a direct flow model and not ducted. We also use a fan on ocassion to help cool down LR area.
2. We, also, use most major highways and at first, I was concerned about the added height, but in three years have had no problems. I do use the truckers Atlas to check clearances on the roads I plan on being on.
3. I think you will find the 13,500 is enough for the BR and to supplement the LR AC.
