I'll be replacing the original 7/16" plywood with 3/4" so it should be strong enough. I happen to have a sheet measuring 60"X55" from an old homemade ping pong table. I will need to cut it 58"X53". The original was 67"wide X 48" long. (overall length will be 79") The 5" of added length will leave me with 1" mattress overhang all around and still able to close all slides w/o interference. Just lucky to have that oversized piece of plywood.
