I have a 2002 gmc duramax with 211000 miles . I have put about 8000 miles pulling the 5th wheel in the last 12 months . I weigh 19000 pounds all hooked up. I have no problem taking off tomorrow on a long trip. If your 2008 has been maintained good you should not having any more or less worries about breaking down with it or a new one.The only advantage I can see with a new one is having a warranty. 50000 or more to pay for a new one seems crazy to me .You will never put that much in repairs in the next 10 years.
