Good luck with getting a replacement for a rig that old. The reason I believe there may be a problem is because I have a 2002 year old model. And I could not get a replacement. Perhaps my dealer just didn't want to try to find a fender replacement for me.
Luckily a friend of ours had a replacement fender that fit almost perfectly.
