Very well put. It has always been my feeling that once you purchase and take off in any RV with a height over 12' your days of just wondering down any road you want are over. Professional semi drivers don't just pick up a load and take the most direct route to a delivery point.
If you are staying on Class I designated highways (interstates and most U.S. highways) then you won't see any overpasses below 13'6" generally speaking. Once you exit those Class I roadways you had better know in advance the make up of the road you are traveling on. Of course the most reliable printed information on safe roads to travel in large RVs is the Trucker's Atlas, or a commercial atlas.
