We do lots of dry camping. We also have a 3.2 Avanti, and we have found that we use lots of solar energy trying to keep the freezer going. We purchased a digital temperatrue monitor that we place in the freezer so we can see the temp without opening the freezer door.
We hope that with the purchase of the ice maker, we'll be able to move the contents of the Avanti freezer (at times) to the freezer in the refrigerator and save Ah on our solar. Ice making has always taken up lots of room in both freezers.
