Just letting you know I am about to find out how hardy these new injection systems are. The 2005 has a different pump arrangement than the 2009 like I drive.

Time will tell if the water has damaged the pump or the injectors.

I also cleaned a Silverado gas engine that had water in it about 6 months ago didn’t change any parts on that one and it is still running. But time will tell on that one also.

Both the 2005 Duramax and the gas engine had sat for over a week before I got to them.

Both of these were out of town on farm land and very low fuel and the owners fueled them from 5 gallon gas can and both had more than half water in the cans.

My recommendation is if you think you are too low on fuel and have to use a gas can go purchase a new gas can and then dispose of it. LOL
