All of these high pressure common rail were developed by Bosch. They are all made my Bosch for Cummings, Ford and GM. No auto company makes their own. They all have the same problems and benefits. Dirt or water in them will destroy them in short order. Like Phil said if the water in fuel light comes on shut your truck off and coast over to the side of the road and get the water out of the system and if you can’t have it towed in.
I was told by the diesel tech at my Ford dealer if one of these systems goes bad Ford requires pictures of the inside of the HPFP. If there is any evidence of rust or dirt they will not warranty it. The cost is about $8000 or more.
