I agree with John that the first place to look is your vent. Years ago, I had a friend of mine with the same problem in his stick house. It was a blocked vent. One thing that you could try is to have the DW open the toilet valve (shut off the water so the toilet won't run) while you drain and see if the problem goes away. If it does, it's the vent.
