We have a brand new HD telie for the bedroom, and we are using the OLD Winegard antenna. Al was going to buy new bat wings from Winegard (they are painted, not silver). Winegard said they would give you better reception. Bat wing was about $85.00 from CW.
Now, after a little thought, and based on a LOT of research he did this past summer on Dish telie and antennas and HD telies and old telies, he decided to leave the Winegard alone. The HD telie gets real nice pictures with that ole Winegard.
At the proper time he will put a box on the older telie (flat screen but not HD) in the front room of Tana.
We have a new HD telie at home and we are running it with rabbit ear antenna, and that antenna is several years old. We purchased new (2 different ones) antennas that were supposed to be super for HD telies, ha ha, they did not come close to the reception we got with the old rabbit ears. Needless to say, they went back to Best Buy!
