We have the same model as you do but ours is a 2013. I took the inside dome out and went to an auto parts store and purchase a spray paint that they spray the taillight lenses of the classics to darken them. It was really easy and it cuts the light and also the heat coming in through the skylight. Others have used the bubble wrap material for packing and put that between the two lenses and still others have put the foil wrapped bubble wrap(like in the sunscreens for car windshields) and put that between the two lenses.
