I would just add in the convenience factor. When I was researching, others convinced me to go with the onboard Onan especially if you will be using it all the time so you don't have to be lugging around the gens in and out of vehicle or wherever all the time. I would say it depends on how much the gen will be used. Switchover is also easier. I suspect a lot of onboard gen people might be chiming in here??
