Ours are out most of the time BUT that is because we are either living in the RV or it is on our property were we can get to it if needed. If we were not close to the RV and away for extended periods we would not leave them extended. Example they are extended now but we can get to the RV and have them retracted in a couple of mins if bad weather blew up.
